Singapore’s Team Impunity has been invited to compete at a Vainglory 5V5 showcase stage for the World Electronics Sports Games (WESG) 2017, held in Haikou, Hainan, China. The games will play on 17 and 18 March 2018, and will feature top teams representing China, Korea, Indonesia, and Singapore to face off as they fight for national pride. The showcase will be the first that Vainglory will feature at WESG.
Team manager Fabien Ong, said “We are extremely proud to be invited to WESG as Singapore’s representative, something that we experienced last year at the World Championships. It is also great to see Vainglory as a title picked up by yet another major esports program and shows that the game is growing. The move to 5V5 has added strategic depth to the most visually stunning mobile MOBA, and is surely a winning combination for an esports title.”
The annual esports program is hosted by Alisports, the sports branch of Alibaba, and features titles such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Hearthstone and StarCraft II.
Team Impunity, who was last seen earning a top four finish at the Razer 2017 Vainglory World Championships held in Singapore, will be led by team captain Amos “Quartervois” Ker Zhen Shun. He will be joined by Nigel “INKED” Wong, Tan “deftQ” JingYu, Nicholas “QuiCi” Wong, and Ng “Bluexidy” JunXian they look to make their mark on the world stage once again.
