Gundam 00 recently held the Gundam 00 Festival 10 Re:vision event to celebrate its 10th anniversary. During the event, the anime’s director, Seiji Mizushima, has announced that he’s now working on a new project regarding the series. But while he didn’t say what it’ll be in his tweet, Animate Ikebukuro confirmed it will be a sequel.
However, neither Animate nor the director revealed what its medium will be. We still don’t know if it will be a TV anime, movie, OVA, ONA, manga, video game, or novel. But during the event, they did a live-stage reading which introduced a couple of new characters and mobile suits. This includes the Gundam Exia Repair IV and the Gundam Dynames Repair III. The live reading’s story setting takes place after the events of the Awakening of the Trailblazer movie.
They will be releasing a Blu-ray and DVD version of the event, and that includes the live-reading. Here is the cover:
Aside from the sequel project, the event also announced that Gundam 00 will be having its own live-action stage play as well. It will happen in February 2019, though the staff didn’t reveal any further details regarding this new live-action project.
