Bleach is finally getting a live-action movie, and now, their twitter page has revealed even more cast members. According to the announcement, Masami Nagasawa will play Ichigo’s mom, Masaki Kurosaki, while Yosuke Eguchi plays his dad, Isshin. Meanwhile, Seiichi Tanabe will be playing the “mysterious” Kisuke Urahara.
The movie’s staff also confirmed that popular Japanese actress, Erina Mano, will be playing Orihime Inoue. As for Chad, Yu Konagi will be playing him.
These five new cast members will be joining the the other previously-announced characters in the movie. Souta Fukushi plays Ichigo, while actress Hana Sugisaki as Rukia Kuchiki. They also previously revealed that Ryou Yoshizawa will play Uryuu Ishida, Taichi Saotome will play Renji Abarai, and MIYAVI will play Byakuya Kuchiki.
The movie will be following the “Substiture Shinegami” arc from Tite Kubo’s internationally-bestselling manga, which of course is the very first major arc in the franchise. It features Ichigo doing Rukia’s Shinegami duties after he accidentally “steals” her powers. This forces Rukia to live among humans and even go to Ichigo’s school.
Live-action Gantz movie director, Shinsuke Sato, will be directing the movie. The staff also revealed that it will premiere in July 20, 2018.
