Tokyo Ghoul fans, prepare for more edgy and cannibalistic goodness, as Young Jump magazine’s 28th issue has dropped a major bomb shell. It reveals that Sui Ishida’s popular sequel manga, Tokyo Ghoul:re, is getting a second season.
According to the announcement, it will be premiering in October 2018 as part of the Fall 2018 anime season. However, they did not reveal any further details regarding the new anime. But do expect the magazine, as well as the anime’s staff, to reveal more about this second season in the days to come. As for the first season, it’s currently airing in Japan, but will be ending later this month.
However, with the good news comes some bad news. The same issue also announced that the manga will be ending in three more chapters. This means that the series itself will end in July 5, a few months before the second season airs.
The magazine previously hinted that they will be doing a “big announcement” for Tokyo Ghoul:re in their 28th issue. And now, it seems that the new season and the manga ending are what they’re talking about.
