Because the first live-action Gintama movie was such a huge success at the box office, it’s getting a sequel! Titled Gintama 2: The Law is Surely There to be Broken, the movie promises more antics, action, and 4th wall breaking. And now, Warner Brothers has finally released a brand new trailer for the upcoming movie.

Yeah, the trailer kinda looks serious… until you realize it’s Gintama you’re watching. The new video also gives us a preview of its theme song, “Daifuseikai” by back number. The movie’s story will be adapting the “Shinsengumi Crisis” and the “Shogun Reception” arcs from the manga.

They also confirmed that director and screenwriter, Yuichi Fukuda is also returning to direct the movie. It will be premiering in Japan on August 17, 2018.

Previously, the first film featured  Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura, and Zura Katsura and Elizabeth, as well as Takasugi and Ogata.  They also revealed the Shinsengumi members in costume as well. Shun Oguri plays Gintoki, while Masaki Suda plays Shinpachi Shimura and Kanna Hashimoto plays Kagura. Meanwhile, director Yuichi Fukuda is also making his return to direct the sequel movie.

The first film premiered in July of last year, and it earned 980 million yen in just its first four days, topping the Japanese box office.
