After much waiting, they are finally going to adapt Sword Art Online’s insanely long Alicization arc into a TV anime. And during the Anime Expo 2018 event, they finally aired the very first PV for Sword Art Online: Alicization. This new PV also gives us our very first look at the new anime, and it also comes with English subtitles:

Aside from the new PV, the staff also revealed a brand new key visual. It features Kirito (of course), along with Eugeo and Alice. Sword Art Online: Alicization will premiere in October 2018.

Finally, the new official website update also revealed the anime’s staff:

  • Director: Manabu Ono
  • Character Designer: Shingo Adachi, Gou Suzuki, Tomoya Nishiguchi
  • Studio: A-1 Pictures

Project Alicization is Sword Art Online’s longest arc so far, and it runs for about 11 volumes of the light novels. This means it’s a longer than the Aincrad, ALO, GGO, and Mother’s Rosario arcs combined. Expect Dengeki Bunko to reveal more announcements about this new SAO anime on the days ahead.
