Get your feels ready, because Kyoto Animation just announced that Violet Evergarden will be getting an anime movie! They made the announcement during a special Violet Evergarden event in Tokyo, and seiyuu Haruka Tomatsu (Sword Art Online’s Asuna) who voices Iris Cannary in the anime, would later confirm the news on her personal blog.
Both Tomatsu’s blog, as well as the event itself, also confirmed that the movie will premiere in January 2020. They described it as an “all-new” movie project, though didn’t reveal any further details. Looks like we would have to wait a bit more to get more information about this Violet Evergarden movie.
As for the anime itself, Netflix is still streaming the original series, which is based on Akiko Takase’s award-winning Violet Evergarden novel. It will also be having an “Extra Episode” which will be shipping out on July 4 along with the anime’s Vol. 4 Blu-ray and DVD release.
