Shirou Yoshida’s steampunk zombie apocalypse survival manga, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, adapts WiT Studio’s highly popular Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress TV anime. However, it will be ending soon, according to the September 2018 edition of Monthly Comic Garden Magazine.
According to the magazine’s announcement, the manga will be ending in three more chapters. The announcement also stated that the manga itself might end in November if “there are no delays”.
Here’s how ANN describe’s the franchise’s story:
The “steampunk survival action” story takes place on the island country Hinomoto, where humans hide themselves in fortresses called stations against the threat of zombie-like beings with steel hearts known as “Kabane.” Only armored locomotives known as “Hayajiro” go between the stations.
The TV anime made its debut back in April 2016. Yoshida then launched the manga a month later in May 2016. A sequel anime movie is currently in the works, with Tetsuro Araki also making his return to the anime as director.
