Kakegurui is getting a Season 2, and now, the anime’s official website has revealed more details about the new season. They also revealed a new key visual which features who else? Yumeko Jabami, that’s who! I wonder what that crazy gambler is gonna be up to this season?

The official website also announced that MAPPA will be returning to animate the new season, and director Kiyoshi Matsuda will be directing it alongside Yuichiro Hayashi. Other returning staff members include writer Yasuko Kobayashi and character designer Manabu Akita. Aside from the returning staff, they also revealed that much of the cast from the first season will be reprising their respective roles.

Here’s how Yen Press, which distributes the manga in English, describes Kakegurui’s story:

Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution for the privileged with a very peculiar curriculum. You see, when you’re the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it’s not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It’s reading your opponent, the art of the deal. What better way to hone those skills than with a rigorous curriculum of gambling? At Hyakkaou Private Academy, the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. But when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she’s gonna teach these kids what a high roller really looks like!

As for the first season, you can check it out via Netflix. Meanwhile, the second season itself premieres on January 2019.
