Kingdom Hearts III is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games this year. And during the Tokyo Game Show 2018 event, director Tetsuya Nomura went on stage, together with a panel to reveal a new gameplay trailer. There, it reveals a boss battle, as Sora fights Aqua:

The Kingdom Hearts creator then talked about the future of the franchise. There, he revealed that Sora, Donald, and Goofy’s story will be continuing after Kingdom Hearts III. He says that the upcoming game will only be the end of the “Dark Seeker Saga,” and added it’s “definitely not the end of Kingdom Hearts’ story”. He also said that he’s like to continue Sora’s story as well.

The director also revealed that the new game will have a “secret movie”, which might have a different method of delivery from previous games. As of now, the staff are still deciding on how to implement it, and this includes adding it as a DLC after the game’s release. This is to avoid potential spoilers for players, as the staff also continues to ponder how to add online options for the game. He also revealed the ages of several characters in the franchise, and they are Terra (20), Aqua (18), Ventus (16), Young Xehanort (18-20), and Master Xehanort (in his mid-80s).

The game will get its Japanese release for the PS4 and Xbox ONE on January 25, 2019. It will then have its general international release on January 29. Now, who’s excited, because we surely are!
