We’re already in Mid-September, which means that the current crop of Summer 2018 anime are winding down and are about to head to their inevitable conclusions. But fear not, because a new batch of anime are rearing to take their place. Among them are some new titles which are making their TV anime debut.

We’ve compiled a list of eight new anime that we’re quite excited to watch. Again, these are just new titles which haven’t been adapted to anime yet, or are spin-offs of current titles. These means that we’re not listing Sword Art Online: Alicization, A Certain Magical Index Season 3, Golden Kamuy 2, etc., but don’t worry, we’ll be talking about them tomorrow. Without further ado, here are our eight picks:

Zombie Land Saga

This is an original anime from the people behind Granblue Fantasy, Cygames, as well as Studio MAPPA and Avex Pictures. From the title and the people behind it alone, it sure looks very promising as of now. Oh, and it has zombies. We like zombies.

Yes folks, that unique video game about making babies is getting a TV anime!

On his high school graduation day, Itsuki’s cousin, Mahiru, tells him that she’s pregnant. Just then, a gate of light emerges and transports the two into the world of Granvania. In this land, “Impurities” have been causing a disturbance to the Stars, ultimately plunging Granvania into chaos and disorder. And Itsuki, now revealed to be one who is fated to meet with the “Star Maidens”, is seen as Granvania’s last hope and was thus given the task to produce “Star Children” and combat the “impurities”. And unless the task is complete, Itsuki may never be able to return home.

Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!

It’s an anime about a loli and her former-soldier maid. Let’s just say this one promises to be amusing.

Having lost her mother at a young age, Misha Takanashi, a second grader with Russian blood, now lives with her Japanese father. Tsubame Kamoi, formerly a Self‐Defense Force officer, comes to the Takanashi household as a housekeeper. This is a home comedy where Kamoi, a hardcore lolicon, attempts to get near Misha as she tries to fight against her.

RErideD: Tokigoe no Derrida

This time-traveling SciFi anime looks good so far, and that’s just the artwork.

When development engineer Delida wakes up in the future from a cold sleep, his girlfriend isn’t there… he decides to go back 10 years in time to “that incident” to keep his promise with her.

The key to get her back is a time leap.

In the tradition of Free!, Kyoto Animation is back to making fujoshi-bait sports anime. This time though, it’s not gonna be about swimming, but Japanese archery.

The story follows Minato Narumiya. Minato played Japanese archery in middle school, but after a certain incident, he ran away from the sport. In high school, Minato meets new friends, and together as part of their school’s archery club they aim to win the prefectural tournament.

Bloom Into You

Based on the critically-acclaimed yuri manga, the series has gotten a ton of buzz from the yuri community. It has a lot to live up to, as fellow-yuri anime Citrus garnered plenty of success with its run previously.

Yuu has always loved shoujo manga and awaits the day she gets a love confession that sends her heart aflutter with bubbles and blushes, and yet when a junior high classmate confesses his feelings to her…she feels nothing. Disappointed and confused, Yuu enters high school still unsure how to respond. That’s when Yuu sees the beautiful student council president Nanami turn down a suitor with such maturity that she’s inspired to ask her for help. But when the next person to confess to Yuu is Nanami herself. Has her shoujo romance finally begun?

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

I know, I know, “not another isekai anime”, right? Well, this one comes in a ton of hype, and is known to be different from all the other isekai anime out there…

“Rimuru Tempest” is the new name of a slime in a fantasy world taken by a former 37-year-old human Satou Mikami after he is killed by a passing robber. Broken free from ordinary, stale past life, his fresh adventure in a fantasy world as a slime monster with unique abilities begins.

Goblin Slayer

Much like the Slime anime, this one comes in with a ton of hype as well. However, expect this one to be a lot more bloody than the other fantasy anime out there…

A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue—a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…

So there you have it folks, our list of new anime to watch out for next season. Tune in again tomorrow for our list of returning anime we’re excited to watch again next season.
