After revealing Ron Perlman and Tony Jaa as part of the upcoming Monster Hunter live-action film adaptation, Constantin Film has revealed even more details about the movie. According to Variety, Mexican actor, Diego Boneta is joining the cast. However, they didn’t reveal what his role will be.

They also revealed the movie’s story as well:

“The film will depict two protagonists who come from different worlds and must cooperate in fighting monsters in order to survive.

Along the way, viewers will make new discoveries and encounter familiar faces and beloved characters from the games like the Admiral.”

In the movie, Jaa will play a character known as “The Hunter”, while Perlman will play the leader of “The Hunter’s” crew. Meanwhile, the previously-revealed Milla Jovovich will play a character named Artemis, while Harris will play the group’s sniper, Link. Constantin Film is producing the movie, which has a 60 million USD budget. Production and shooting have now begun in South Africa.

Variety further revealed that TOHO will be distributing it in Japan, while Constantin Film is distributing it in German-speaking countries. Meanwhile, Sony’s Screen Gems will release the movie to the United States, while Tencent will be distributing it in China. Finally, Sony is releasing the movie to the rest of the world. Expect more revelations about the movie to come up in the days to come.
