Get ready for more fights (and fan service) because it looks like Yuji Shiozaki’s action manga series, Ikki Tousen, is getting a new anime. It’s title is Ikki Tousen: Western Wolves, and it will serve as a sequel to 2015’s the two-part Ikki Tousen Extravaganza Epoch OVA. However, it wasn’t announced whether or not the anime will be another OVA or a new TV anime.
Genko has announced the series, and also confirmed its staff and cast. Takashi Watanabe , the original TV anime’s director, will be returning to the series as general director. Meanwhile, Shokugeki no Soma assistant director, Mitsutoshi Sato, will be the director for this new anime. Character designer Rinshin will also be returning to the series as well. Finally, the cast members will be:
- Hakufu Sonsaku: Masumi Asano
- Gentoku Ryuubi: Kei Shindo
- Uncho Kan’u: Hitomi Nabatame
- Ekitoku Chouhi: Minori Chihara
- Himiko: Chiaki Takahashi
- Takezou Shinmen: Ami Koshimizu
Based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Ikki Tousen re-imagines the characters from the classic Chinese stories… as high school girls… because why not? It inspired four TV anime series, as well as two OVA series. The series itself is also quite infamous for its gratuitous fan service scenes and clothing damage.
