After a few disappointing set images of the live-action Monster Hunter movie’s stars as modern-day soldiers, many fans have wondered whether or not the movie will stay true to the game. However, Sony has released a new image from the movie, and it features Thai actor Tony Jaa in a costume fans might recognize from the game. Oh, and it also features Mila Jovovich as well.
In the movie, Jaa will play a character known as “The Hunter”, alongside Ron Perlman, who will play the leader of “The Hunter’s” crew. Meanwhile, Jovovich will play a character named Artemis, while T.I. Harris will play the group’s sniper, Link. Constantin Film is producing the movie, which has a 60 million USD budget. Meanwhile, Screen Gems has revealed the movie’s story:
Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.
Expect more revelations about the movie to come up in the days to come.
