Legendary manga magazine, Weekly Shounen Jump (Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Nisekoi, Haikyuu!, My Hero Academia, To Love-Ru!, Shokugeki no Soma, etc.) has announced that yet another one of their manga is getting a TV anime adaptation. This time, it’s Riichirou Inagaki (Eyeshield 21 writer) and Boichi (Sun Ken Rock mangaka)’s Dr. Stone manga.
The Jump announcement revealed that it will premiere in July 2019. They also announced that Yuusuke Kobayashi will be starring in the anime as Senku. However, they did not reveal any further information. Here is how VIZ describes the manga’s story:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
The magazine previously hinted about a “big announcement” regarding the manga. And as it turns out, it’s an anime adaptation! Will Dr. Stone live up to its Jump predecessors? Only time will tell, so get ready for July when this new Jump anime finally hits.
