In terms of sheer cultural impact, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga is one of the greatest Japanese works in history. Like many fans all over the world have said, it turned boys to men, and made us all dream to become Super Saiyan. The manga is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and will also release its latest film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly. And to commemorate these moments, Weekly Shounen Jump magazine, which serialized the manga, released a special book. This book revealed the results of a new official fan poll from the magazine which ranks the manga’s greatest moments. And without further ado, here are the Top 10:
10 – The Buu saga’s ending
9 – “The First Wish Made to Shenron”
8 – “Goku becomes a Super Saiyan for the first time”
7 – Gotenks vs. Majin Buu
6 – Son Goku vs. Piccolo Jr.
5 – Goku vs. King Piccolo
4 – Super Vegito vs. Majin Buu
3 – Goku, Gohan, and Krillin vs. Vegeta for the first time
2 – Gohan vs. Cell
1 – Goku vs. Frieza (final battle)
It looks like many fans agree that Goku’s final battle with Frieza is one of Dragon Ball’s greatest moments. This, along with Gohan’s battle with Cell are certainly two of the most intense moments from the manga, as well as the industry in general.
