It’s official folks, Lelouch is returning for the new Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection film. It will serve as an official sequel to Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection R2 TV anime. And during a Code Geass event in Tokyo, they streamed a new trailer for the upcoming movie. It previews C.C.’s return, as well as new characters from the empire of Jirukustan.

Aside from the new video, the event also revealed that Leo Ieiri is performing the opening theme song “Kono Sekai de” (In This World). Meanwhile, Unione is performing the ending theme song “Revive”. And finally, Ali Project is performing the insert song “Utsukushiki Kemonotachi no Tame no” (For the Beautiful Creatures). But the good news is, Lelouch is back, and director Goro Taneguchi guarantees that this is indeed the Lelouch we know from the TV anime, and not some alternate version. The staff previously confirmed that they will be completing the story of Lelouch’s return im just one film. It will premiere in Japan on February 9, 2019 across 120 theaters.
