The anime itself is part of Gundam’s “UC NexT 0100 Project” which mainly focuses on the Universal Century timeline. And as expected, Sunrise will once again be animating the project, with Gangsta.’s Shukou Murase directing all three movies. According to the previous announcement, the first one will premiere “next winter”.
The three-part novels follow Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa, the legendary Federation ship captain from previous Gundam anime. Its setting is the aftermath of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack. This means that Hathaway’s Flash will happen between the events of the film and Gundam UC.
