Conan and friends are heading to Singapore for a three-way face-off! This will be for the 23rd movie in the franchise, and it’s titled Detective Conan: Fist of Blue Sapphire. Now, the staff have revealed a new poster visual which teases the titular Sapphire, as well as several iconic Singapore landmarks. These include the Marina Bay Sands, as well as the Merlion. Hey, they even have the Singapore Flyer in there too!
The movie itself will center on the three-way conflict between Kaitou Kid, Makoto Kyougoku, and Conan Edogawa. The staff also released a key visual featuring the three main battlers.
In the film’s story, a murder happens in Marina Bay Sands, and it involves a large gen they call the Blue Sappire. Many thought that the gem was lost in the ocean, but now that it has surfaced, everyone wants their hands on it.
Tomoka Nagaoka returns to direct the movie, with Takahiro Okura writing the scripts. It will open in Japan on April 12, 2019.
Previously, the critically-acclaimed A Place Further Than The Universe has gotten much attention thanks to featuring one episode in the country. And yes, the Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion were quite prominent in that episode as well.
