After a lot of trolling on when it will actually end, as well as a transfer of magazines, it looks like we finally know how ,amy volumes Hideaki Sorachi’s Gintama manga will be having. In the release of the manga’s 76th compiled Tankoubon volume, they announced that the manga will finally end in the next volume. That’s right folks, it’s official, Gintama is ending on Vol. 77.
The manga entered the current Silver Soul Arc, which is also its final arc, back in 2016. Sorachi first made the announcement in 2016 as well, and it sent shock waves to the fandom. Of course, many people thought he was trolling fans again, but this new announcement confirms he wasn’t.
The comedy manga has been known to break the 4th wall and parody several other anime and mangas, and has gotten a surprisingly large female fan following. The manga has won plenty of awards, and has also received plenty of anime adaptations, as well as an anime film and two live-action films.
