Chihayafuru is finally getting a third season. Unfortunately, it looks like fans might have to wait a little longer than expected in order to finally watch it. They originally planned the anime to premiere next month, but the anime’s staff announced they’re moving the anime to October. They also released a new key visual announcing the move:
The anime’s staff did not mention the reason for the delay, but they did promise to continue to work hard to make a “superior work”. It was supposed to run starting next month and be two cours (two seasons, or around 24 episodes) long.
Morio Asaka will be returning to direct the series, with Madhouse animating the project. Much of the cast will also be returning to reprise their roles:
- Asami Seto as Chihaya Ayase
- Mamoru Miyano as Taichi Mashima
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Arata Wataya
Expect the staff to reveal more details about this upcoming third season in the days to come.
