Alita: Battle Angel has proved doubters wrong, and has exceeded the expectations of many. And as the movie premiered in Japan, it had a very special guest… Oyabun herself, Kizuna Ai! Actors and staff attended the Japanese premiere, including Rosa Salazar (Alita), Christoph Waltz (Dr. Dyson Ido), director Robert Rodriguez, and producer Jon Landau, as well as original mangaka Yukito Kishiro. However, the one who really stole the show at the premiere was good’ol Oyabun!

In a panel, the four guests from Hollywood talked with Kizuna Ai. There, they talked about many possibilities, such as romance between man and machine, or man and Artificial Intelligence… like Ai-chan! However, the one who actually made a ton of impact with Kizuna Ai is Academy Award-winner, Christoph Waltz. In fact, the actor asked her if she was already engaged to someone. She answered no of course, but said that she might love a human someday.
The movie is now showing here in Southeast Asia, as well as the United States. It’s considered as one of the few successful Hollywood adaptations of Japanese works, with its mangaka genuinely praising the film.
