Police recently arrested actor Hirofumi Arai in his home in Tokyo. According to the Asahi Shimbun, they arrested him on rape charges. He allegedly assaulted a 30-year old woman from a massage service which the actor has used several times. He was allegedly intoxicated during the incident, which happened on July 1 of last year.
The woman reportedly resisted Arai’s advances and ran to a nearby police station where she filed charges against the actor. It seems that he also signed a document which stated that he cannot use sexual advances on the service’s employees. The report also stated that this is also his first encounter with the woman.
Entertainment website Variety has also reported that NHK has now halted the sale of 10 programs involving the actor. These include the 2015 mystery drama “64,” as well as the drama, “Typhoon Family”.
Arai has appeared in plenty of films which adapted famous anime and manga. He appeared as Nizo Okada in Gintama, and also as Kazuya Hiramaru in Bakuman. He also had the role of Riki Nendo in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.. The actor is also a seiyuu, voicing Black Clover’s Rhya.
