Every year, the Sapporo Snow Festival in Hokkaido features beautiful snow sculptures, and some of them even have some great anime flair! This year, the new sculptures include a pair of light novel-inspired series with Re:Zero and Sword Art Online. And of course, there’s Snow Miku there too, just like every year! They also had a collaboration snow sculpture featuring BanG Dream and Hatsune Miku in there as well.

Starting off with Sword Art Online, the sculpture features the Alicization trio of Kirito, Eugeo, and Alice. It also lights up at night, though admittedly, it looks kinda… creepy. (images via official Sword Art Online Twitter page)

Meanwhile, for Re:Zero, it recreated a scene from their Memory Snow OVA. (image via nonoc twitter page)

However, the star of the Snow Festival every year is Hatsune Miku. This year featured two sculptures. One of them is the traditional Snow Miku sculpture, while the other is a collaboration with BanG Dream. The collab sculpture even had a lights show, and the Snow Miku sculpture had a Princess theme.

The event is currently happening in the city of Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan. They kicked it off last February 4, 2019, and will be holding it until February 11. And yes, Kirito looks kinda creepy with the lights on at night…
