Production IMS declared bankruptcy last year, and it placed many of its anime in limbo, including the upcoming “High School Fleet the Movie” film. Thankfully, A-1 pictures has now picked up the project and continuing it. They even held a special event for the anime celebrating its 3rd anniversary! And during that event, the anime’s staff revealed a new trailer:

The video revealed that the anime movie will premiere in early spring 2020 with much of the cast reprising their roles. They’re also revealing that Jun Nakagawa is directing it, with the TV anime’s director, Yuu Nobuta, now the chief director. And with A-1 taking over the animation production, Aniplex will be distributing the movie in Japan.
So, who is excited for the new movie? Will A-1 Pictures, the same studio behind Sword Art Online be able to capture Production IMS’s magic? Looks like we will see soon enough.
