Netflix will soon be adapting the classic anime, Cowboy Bebop, into a live-action series. And now, the streaming service’s NX Twitter account has tweeted the live action “TV Drama”‘s cast! They also provided descriptions on each of the characters they will be playing.
John Cho as Spike
Haunted by visions of the woman he loved and lost, Julia, Spike’s criminal past slowly catches up to him — putting him and the Bebop crew in the crosshairs of the solar system’s most lethal criminal organization, the Syndicate.
Mustafa Shakir as Jet
Jet holds tight to his honor and optimism, acting as a father figure to his misfit crew, always seeing the best in his partner, Spike… until it’s too late.
Daniella Pineda as Faye
She’s always on the search for the person with the key to her identity. In the meantime, she’ll fake it till she makes it.
Alex Hassell as Vicious
Once he was Spike’s best friend, now he’s his mortal enemy and is obsessed with taking him down.
As to who will play Ed, well… Netflix just replied “Ed is Ed”.

According to Variety, the live-action series will have 10 episodes. And for those worrying that Netflix will screw this up, Cowboy Bebop’s own creator and anime director, Shinichiro Watanabe, will be serving as creative consultant. Also, the guy who wrote the scripts for Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Yost, is writing the first episode’s script. It was also reported that Alex Garcia Lopez is directing the first two episodes.
The streaming service has gotten plenty of influence in the Japanese animation industry already. These include live-action projects such as adapting Sword Art Online into live-action and anime projects such as the new Ultraman anime, Kakegurui, Fate/Apocrypha, Baki, and many more.
