Spice and Wolf previously announced a new VR anime, though it would have to got through crowdfunding first. And now, the anime has surpassed their goals and is really pushing through! Spicy Tails, the VR anime’s developer, has revealed that they will be releasing it on June 3, 2019. It will be available for PC (via Steam), Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, and HTC Vive. Here is the first footage from this upcoming anime:
Independent development circle Spicy Tails is developing the anime, with light novel author Isuna Hasekura himself writing its story. In fact, it will be having an original scenario not found in the light novels nor the anime and manga adaptations.
Meanwhile, Spicy Tails also confirmed that it will also have English subtitles. They also revealed that Ami Koshimizu is returning as Holo, while Jun Fukuyama is returning as Lawrence Kraft. As for the PC version, it will be available via steam, and it won’t require a VR headset.
