Nao Touyama is a well known known seiyuu, having voiced many popular characters. She has voiced all four Kongou sisters in Kantai Collection, Yui Yuigahama in Oregairu, Karen Kujou in Kiniro Mosaic, and of course, Chitoge Kirisaki from Nisekoi. But did you know that she also has a very kind heart? In fact, she received the Golden Achievement Award from the Japanese Red Cross Society on May 15, 2019 for her charity efforts. The seiyuu wasn’t just just voicing popular anime characters, but was also helping out in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Her birthday is on March 11, which is the same day as the earthquake, And she often celebrates it with some charity work. In fact, she used her birthday to raise awareness for the people who still need aid because of the earthquake. To do this, she sold rainbow wristbands to her fans and then donated the proceeds to the red cross.

The seiyuu was so happy with last year’s charity work, that she’s actually continuing what she started. Even now, she’s selling special charity bags, and is giving the proceeds to charity. Now that’s how you use your star power! More power to you Nao Touyama!
