Last year, the classic fantasy light novel series, Slayers, returned after author Hajime Kanzaka released its first new volume in 18 years. And now, Fantasia Bunko revealed during a livestream presentation that Kanzaka will be continuing to write the light novels, as the author officially launched “Part III” of the series in the July 2019 issue of Dragon Magazine, which is released today, May 17.
The novels’ first part include Volumes 1-8, while the novels’ second part includes volumes 9-16. Both parts ran in the 90’s and has inspired plenty of people to become light novel authors. Meanwhile, Vol 16 was released last October and served as the series’ return volume after 18 years, kicks off the third part, which Kanzaka is now officially continuing.
The series inspired a total of five TV anime, as well as two OVAs and five films. There were also multiple manga adaptations as well. The light novels and anime follow the adventures of Lina Inverse and her companions as they battle demons, bandits, and all sorts of bad guys.
