Final Fantasy fans, get ready, because Square Enix and Sony Pictures Television are working together to create a live-action Final Fantasy TV series. To be exact, they’re working together with Hive Mind to adapt the MMO version of the franchise, Final Fantasy XIV. Square Enix itself will have an active role in the series’ production.

According to Variety, which first reported the adaptation:

The series will “explore the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict,” and feature a blend of new and familiar faces like fan-favorite anti-hero Cid. Features and creatures from the game series, such as magitek, beastmen, airships and chocobos, will all also play a part in the TV adaptation.

Sony Pictures Television, Square Enix, and Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, and Dinesh Shamdasani for Hivemind will be co-producing the live-action TV show. Meanwhile, Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton will write for the series and serve as executive producers. Expect them to reveal more details on this new live-action Final Fantasy series soon enough.
