Level 5’s hit video game, Ni No Kuni, is getting itself an anime movie! And now, Warner Brothers Japan has released several new character trailers for the upcoming film. They introduce us to several characters, including main characters Yuu, Haru, and Kotona:
The movie’s cast will include:
- Kento Yamazaki as Yuu
- Mackenyu as Haru
- Mei Nagano as Asha/Kotona
- Mamoru Miyano as Yoki
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Gabaras
- Maaya Sakamoto as Saki / Velsa
- Kouichi Yamadera as Balton
- Yuuki Kaji as Danpa
- Masatou Ibu as King Flander
- Tsuyoshi Muro as Ojii-san
The movie itself will have an original story that will follow the three friends as they travel between the real world and an alternate world known as Ni No Kuni. According to the announcement, when the life of the Kotona of both worlds is put in danger, they must make the “ultimate choice”.
Yoshiyuki Momose, who worked on the game, will return to direct the movie, with the legendary Joe Hisaishi composing the music. Pokemon’s studio, OLM, will be providing the animation, while Level 5 CEO, Akihiro Hino is overseeing the movie and the scripts personally. It will premiere in Japan on August 23, 2019.
