Tamiya has been pretty big in the Philippines for a long time now. In fact, the Mini 4WD craze is still ongoing for many, and Tamiya also has its own factory in the country. And now, they are releasing a Philippines-exclusive Mini 4WD model inspired by the country’s iconic transport, the Jeepney. They call it the “Dyipni”, and they will release it on June 6, 2019.
The model is a collaboration between Tamiya itself, as well as Lils Hobby Center and The BrickYard. Lil’s Hobby Center will be responsible for selling these models during the Tamiya Mini 4wd Asia Challenge 2019 event at the Glorietta in Makati, Philippines. They’re releasing the model in celebration of the Tamiya Mini 4WD Asia Challenge event, which is happening in the Philippines’ from June 20-23, 2019.
The model itself will feature an FM-A Chasis. It will start out as a Philippines-exclusive, though Tamiya seems to be planning a global release as well.
