Despite 35 people being killed when an arsonist lit a fire in their main studio, burning it down and causing millions in damage, Kyoto Animation is remaining strong. The studio is moving forward with the release of two Violet Evergarden films, including the side story, Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll. And now, they have have released a new trailer for the movie:
The new trailer previews the anime’s theme song “Amy” by Minori Chihara. It also introduces a couple of new cast members as well, like Isabella York (CV: Minako Kotobuki) and Taylor Bartlett (CV: Aoi Yuuki). It also confirmed its September 6 premiere, sending a message to the arsonist that they are unbowed.
This Side Story will have a limited screening though, as only 73 theaters across Japan will be screening it. Haruka Fujita, who directed several episodes of the Netflix anime, is acting as the movie’s director. As for Violet Evergarden the Movie, it is also moving forward with its Japanese opening, which will be on January 10, 2020.
