When you say “Break a leg” to someone, it’s usually for good luck. Unfortunately, for GRANRODEO vocalist and seiyuu Kishou Taniyama, that incident happened to him… literally. He apparently ruptured his Achilles Tendon during a concert in Hokkaido. And when the hospital released a diagnosis, the band as a whole decided to cancel three performances.

The band cancelled the concerts they were supposed to perform for September 20 and 21 respectively. They also had to cancel their appearance at the Inazuma Rock Festival on September 22 due to Kishou Taneyama’s injury. It’s still unknown how this will affect the vocalist’s other line of work as a seiyuu.

GRANRODEO is best known for performing countless AniSongs, most notable Kuroko’s Basketball, Bungou Stray Dogs, the Seven Deadly Sins, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, and Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. As for their vocalist, Taniyama also works as a seiyuu, and has voiced many notable characters. They include Attack on Titan’s Jean Kirschtein, Bungou Stray Dogs’ Chuuya Nakahara, A Certain series’ Stiyl Magnus, UtaPri’s Natsuki Shinomiya, and High School of the Dead’s Kouichi Shidou.

We wish him a speedy recovery from his injuries.
