Nissin Cup Noodles has been re-imagining several One Piece characters into normal high school students. After previously re-magining Zoro as one, they have now turned Nami into a 17-year old high school girl herself! They even released a new animated commercial featuring her… and yes, she even misses her buses and gets late as well:
In the video, Nami is a normal girl who dreams of becoming a Navigator one day. She even has a part-time job, though she refuses to hang out with her classmates because she is a hard worker. And much like Zoro’s spotlight, the Nami’s version also features the band Bump of Chicken, who perform the commercial series’ theme song “Kinen Satsuei”. It is part of Nissin’s Hungry Days campaign, which re-imagines anime and manga characters into normal people.
And just in case you were wondering, Shaft (Monogatari, Madoka Magica, Nisekoi), animated these commercials, with Eisaku Kubonouchi (Tsurumoku Dokushinryo) responsible for the character designs.
Nissin promises to release more of these commercials, though they haven’t revealed who is next on the agenda just yet. So, which One Piece character will be getting his/her ramen spotlight next?
