My Hero Academia is getting a new movie titled My Hero Academia -Heroes: Rising-. It will have an original story not found in the manga, and it opens later this year! And now, the staff have now dropped a brand new trailer for the upcoming movie:

The new trailer doesn’t just show new footage from the movie, but also gives us a taste of its new theme song, which is titled”Higher Ground” by sumika. And aside from the new video, the staff also unveiled a brand new key visual, which not only features the UA heroes-in-training, but also teases the anime’s new villain:

Kenji Nagasaki is returning from the first movie to direct, as is scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda. BONES is once again animating the movie, much like the previous movie and the TV anime. It will have a completely original story, and mangaka Kouhei Horikoshi himself is supervising the movie’s production. He will also be acting as character designer for the film as well. It will premiere on December 20, 2019.
