People are supporting Kyoto Animation in their own special ways after that tragic arson fire which has now killed 36 people. While some donate money directly, others are buying tickets for the now-screening Violet Evergarden: Spin-Off – Eternity and Auto Memory Doll – film. And due to popular demand, the film’s screening run is now extended, with seven new screening locations across Japan!
The original run was only supposed to be just two weeks, from September 6-20, but they would extend this to a third week following the arson attack. The film consistently scored high demand and satisfaction ratings from moviegoers, so they extended its run.
This Side Story was originally set to have a limited screening though, as only 73 theaters across Japan were supposed to be screening it. Haruka Fujita, who directed several episodes of the Netflix anime, is acting as the movie’s director. As for Violet Evergarden the Movie, it is also moving forward with its Japanese opening, but Kyoto Animation has recently decided to delay the film.
