Remember that “Diving” anime titled Grand Blue that made us all laugh out loud? Well, it adapts Kenji Inoue and Kimitaka Yoshioka’s Grand Blue Dreaming comedy manga. And now, that manga is also inspiring its own live-action movie adaptation! They even released a still image teasing the now-infamous Grand Blue itself!
Tsutomu Hanabusa, who also directed various live-action adaptations of other anime/manga like 3D Kanojo and Kakegurui is going to be at the helm of this new project as director. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Japan is distributing the movie.
As of now, they still haven’t revealed the cast and additional staff, so stay tuned for more announcements. Here’s how Kodansha describes the story:

A new chapter of his life unfolds, full of diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a gaggle of lovable bastards! Idiot-expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale filled with booze-fueled antics!
