After much teasing, it looks like Tokusatsu fans are about to have their way. Japan’s Tokusatsu Spider-Man may be one of the weirdest and quirkiest versions of the wallcrawler, but for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2, it looks like the quirkier the better, as one of the movie’s producers has confirmed.
A fan recently asked the film’s producers on Twitter whether they can add the Japanese tokusatsu icon to the movie. To this, Spider-Verse writer and co-producer Philip Lord replied that he’s already designed!
There you have it folks, the co-producer of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse himself confirming it. However, this confirmation is certainly raising even more questions. Will Leopardon be in the movie? Will Tokusatsu Spidey have a big role? In the Spider-Verse comic book, he certainly had a memorable moment with Leopardon, but will it also happen in the movie? For now, fans can only speculate.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 will be premiering on April 8, 2022.
