Yes folks, you’ve read the title right. It really does look like the Kantai Collection anime ain’t dead yet. Kadokawa, which publishes KanColle, has released their financial report for their 2020 second fiscal quarter. And in that report, they announced that the second season of the Kantai Collection TV anime is still in production.

As to when this new anime will happen, Kadokawa did not state anything. They just said that the anime is currently in production. It’s still unclear whether they will be releasing the new anime next year or anytime soon.

Kadokawa’s Studio ENGI is producing the anime. The studio was established by Kadokawa together with pachinko game machine maker Sammy and anime holding company Ultra Super Pictures. Diomedéa previously produced the first season, as well as KanColle: The Movie.
