The DigiDestined finally become adults in their “final adventure”. And as fans are bracing for Digimon’s 20th anniversary film, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, Toei Animation has released a brand new trailer for the film. It teases the lives of the Digidestined as adults, as well as teases the second generation’s return. However, it really hits the nostalgia button when it finally plays the iconic Digimon theme song, Butter-Fly.

Toei also released a new key visual for the movie. It features not just the first generation of Digidestined, but also the second generation, as well as their partner Digimon:

The film is described as “Taichi and Agumon’s final adventure”. The film celebrates the Digimon franchise’s 20th anniversary, with the main human cast and Digimon cast reprising their roles from Digimon Adventure tri. It premieres on February 21, 2020.

Toei Animation will once again be animating the project, much like previous Digimon anime. Hiromi Seki, Digimon Adventure 01’s original producer, has signed on as supervisor, while original character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is also returning from 01.
