The Madoka Magica spin-off game, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, is getting its own TV anime adaptation. And now, the staff have released a brand new PV for this new anime. This new video announces the anime’s 4th January premiere via Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11.

And much like the original Madoka Magica TV anime, ClariS is also performing the anime’s theme song. In fact, the video itself previewed it. The new song’s title is “Alicia.”
Set in the city of Kamihama, the game follows new magical girl, Iroha Tamaki, who became one to cure her sister, Ui, of illness. As she does her duties as a magical girl, Homura Akemi arrives in order to find a way to save Madoka. Meanwhile, Madoka herself also arrives, this time searching for Homura.
Aoi Yuuki will be reprising her role as Madoka from the original TV anime, while Momo Asakura reprises her role as Iroha from the game. The cast includes:

- Sora Amamiya as Yachiyo Nanami
- Shiina Natsukawa as Tsuruno Yui
- Ayane Sakura as Felicia Mitsuki
- Yui Ogura as Sana Futaba
- Mikako Komatsu as Momoko Togame
- Ayaka Ohashi as Kaede Akino
- Kaori Ishihara as Rena Minami
- Kana Hanazawa as Kuroe
Also much like the original TV anime, SHARFT will once again the animate the series. Gekidan Inu Curry (Doroinu) is serving as both the chief director and series script supervisor, while Puella Magi Madoka Magica series director Yukihiro Miyamoto is returning as assistant director. Junichirou Taniguchi is also serving as character designer for this one as well.
