Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is 2019’s Game of the Year
The Game Awards 2019 awards ceremony has wrapped up, and it features several surprises, as well as a few expected ones. And for this year, the biggest award in all of gaming, Game of the Year, went to From Software and Activision’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It also won Best Action/Adventure game as well.

- FRESH INDIE GAME: Disco Elysium
- GAME DIRECTION: Death Stranding
- GAMES FOR IMPACT: Gris
- INDEPENDENT GAME: Disco Elysium
- MOBILE GAME: Call of Duty: Mobile
- MULTIPLAYER GAME: Apex Legends
- NARRATIVE: Disco Elysium
- ONGOING GAME: Fortnite
- PERFORMANCE: Mads Mikkelsen (Death Stranding)
- ROLE-PLAYING GAME: Disco Elysium
- SCORE AND MUSIC :Death Stranding

Death Stranding may have had the most nominations for this year, but they only won a few of those. The clear winner is Sekiro, which not only won the coveted Game of the Year, but also Best Action/Adventure game. Congratulations to all the winners!
