The city of Hita in Oita Prefecture has done a lot in inspiring the settings of Attack on Titan. For one, it’s large Oyama Dam serves as inspiration for the various walls throughout the anime and manga. And now, the city is erecting four statues around the city, celebrating the most successful mangaka they have ever produced in Hajime Isayama.

Bronze statues of the younger versions of Armin, Eren, and Mikasa will be erected near the dam itself. It will have them stare directly at the Oyama Dam, just like when the trio were looking up the wall when the Colossal Titan first showed up. The fourth statue will feature Levi, and they will be erecting him this summer at the JR Hita Station in Oita.

For the young trio, the dam walls will be a perfect stand-in for Wall Maria, and fans can certainly take their photos with the statues. It is all part of the crowddunded effort to help revitalize the city. Isayama himself will be attending the unveiling ceremony of the three statues in April 5.

As for the Levi statue, it will feature him clad in his full Survey Corps gear, including cape and 3D Maneuver Gear. It will also be facing towards the Oita Dam to help tourists know where to go.
