After months of waiting, we finally get the very first posters from Paul W.S. Anderson’s live-action movie adaptation of the Monster Hunter video games. The  first poster features lead actress Milla Jovovich wielding a Giant Jawblade… that honestly could have been bigger and should have been weilded by both arms. Meanwhile, the second poster features Thai action star Tony Jaa as an actual Monster Hunter Gunner wielding a bow.

In the movie, Jaa will play a character known as “The Hunter”, alongside Ron Perlman, who will play the leader of “The Hunter’s” crew. Meanwhile, Jovovich will play a character named Artemis, while T.I. Harris will play the group’s sniper, Link. Constantin Film is producing the movie, which has a 60 million USD budget. Meanwhile, Screen Gems has revealed the movie’s story:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.

The movie will hit theatres in the US starting September 4. For its international release date, expect more announcements in the days to come.
