Tragedy has struck the seiyuu in dustry as Air Agency announced that one of their most famous talents has now passed away. The agency revealed that after a long battle with cancer, seiyuu Keiji Fujiwara has now passed away. He was 55 at the time of passing.
According to the agency, his family already held a private wake for family and friends.
Back in 2016, Fujiwara went on hiatus for the medical treatment of an unspecified illness. He would later return to voice acting work in 2017. The veteran seiyuu has been active since 1983, and has a plethora of roles he is surely proud of. These range from dubbing Hollywood movies such as Tony Stark/Iron man in The Avengers, to video game roles such as Axel in Kingdom Hearts, Ardyn in Final Fantasy XV, and Reno in Final Fantasy VII REMAKE, the latter being his most recent and seemingly final role. Of course, he is best known for his anime roles, voicing Hiroshi Nohara in Crayon Shin-chan, Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist, Leorio in Hunter × Hunter (2011), and ACDC in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
May he rest in Peace.
