Hollywood news site Variety has announced that Sony is planning to adapt ONE and Yusuke Murata’s One Punch Man manga into a live-action movie. Venom’s Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner will be writing the story, with Avi Arad and Ari Arad of Arad Productions are producing the film.
According to Variety, Sony is quite “High” on the property. They said that this is mainly due to One Punch Man’s popularity, as well as the possibility of them adding one more franchise. And they were so keen on the franchise that they even got two of their most trusted writers, Rosenberg and Pinkner, on the project.
So far, Sony hasn’t revealed any further details yet. But do expect them to reveal more details in the future.
Here’s how Viz Media describes the manga’s story:
Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?
