If you haven’t heard by now, InuYasha is getting its own spin-off anime titled Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. The anime will be premiering in Fall 2020, and it will follow half-demon twins, Setsuna and Towa. And as it turns out, they’re Sesshomaru’s daughters! The staff is also teasing a new visual for the spin-off TV anime as well:

Much like the original anime, it will also get an international release. Viz will be releasing the series out west, and here’s how they describe its story:

The daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha set out on a journey transcending time!

In Feudal Japan, Half-Demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire. While desperately searching for her younger sister, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into present-day Japan, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, and his family.

Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a Demon Slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa’s shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister.

Joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women travel between the two eras on an adventure to regain their missing past.

Sunrise will once again animate the series, with Teru Sato, who served as episode director in the original InuYasha anime, now serving as director. Legendary mangaka Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2) is returning as well, and she will be acting as character designer! Expect the staff to reveal more details in the days to come.

As the anime follows Sessomaru’s daughters, it has certainly sparked online debates as to who their mother is. Sessomaru has proven to be quite a popular character among the ladies, and people want to know who bore the twins for him. Well, I guess we will find out soon enough!
