Netflix’s Baki is returning for a second season, officially titled Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga. It will cover the “Great Raitai Tournament Saga” story arc, as well as “The Clash of the Children of the Gods arc from Keisuke Itagaki’s bestselling Baki manga series. And now, Netflix has released a new PV for the anime, and it teases that very tournament arc, as well as other stories.
The new anime will not just feature the “Great Raitai Tournament Saga” arc and the “The Clash of the Children of the Gods arc, but also the “Revenge Tokyo” side stories. These will focus on the death row convicts who escaped and faced off with Baki and friends during Baki Season 1. Here’s the second season’s new visual, which confirms the anime’s June 4 Netflix debut:
Toshiki Hirano (Rayearth) will be returning to direct the anime over at TMS Entertainment. Much of the staff and cast are also returning for this second season as well.
As for the first season, Netflix is now streaming the anime, so you better catch up before the anime premieres later this year. Expect the staff to reveal more details about the anime in the days to come.
