In his official blog, seiyuu Nobuhiko Okamoto has announced that he will be taking a break from voice acting starting June 1. The seiyuu says he needs to treat his throat and also has to undergo surgery. He also says that he expects to be out for about a month.

In his post, the A Certain series seiyuu explained that he has been experiencing some discomfort in his throat. And after undergoing a recent medial examination, doctors have found that he has some scarred vcocal chords. It seems that he has also continued voice acting while still undergoing treatment. Now, a doctor has deemed surgery as a necessity.

As for Okamoto himself, he says that he plans to focus on recovering for the entire month. He promised fans that he wants to ensure that he can express characters, as well as sing as best as he can. He also says that their plans for the surgery was last minute, and the main reason was COVID-19. He also apologized for his sudden announcement.

Okamoto is best known for voicing Accelerator in the A Certain series, as well as Katsuki Bakugou in My Hero Academia. He is currently voicing Khun Aguero Agnes in Tower of God.
